Job Summary
The Wisconsin Office of Rural Health (WORH) is hiring two Administrative Assistants (Program Assistants) to meet state and federal program needs.
Work hours:
Monday through Friday 8:00am‑4:30pm Central Time, flexible schedule. Some work may be performed onsite; some may be remote.
Must provide a valid driver’s license and undergo a Pre‑hire Driver Authorization Check.
Success in These Roles Requires- Organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to independently problem‑solve logistical challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
- Proficiency with digital productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM).
- Professional written and verbal communication as the first point of contact.
- Openness to training and feedback.
- Ability to gather and synthesize program information for rural health partners.
- Knowledge of state/federal health agencies and hospital/provider associations.
- Knowledge of performance improvement principles.
- Ability to adjust administrative processes to evolving grant/program requirements.
- Schedule logistics and secure resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations.
- Serve as first point of contact for individuals and groups via phone, in person, and communications.
- Collect, analyze, and prepare communication materials from established sources using technology.
- Track and gather program performance and activity progress to ensure objectives and deadlines are met.
- Send, receive, copy, and distribute communications according to policies and procedures.
- Maintain organizational systems for electronic/physical records related to work operations.
- Experience using digital productivity tools for communications, data tracking, and/or project management.
- Experience maintaining documentation systems to preserve institutional knowledge.
- Experience coordinating meetings, travel, events, and communications.
- Relevant experience or training in healthcare or health outreach programs; rural health environments strongly preferred.
- High school diploma (preferred).
Hourly wage $24.04, negotiable based on experience. Benefits include vacation, holidays, sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
