Job Summary:

Come join our team in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment within the Division of Enrollment Management at UW-Madison! We are admissions professionals dedicated to recruiting, admitting, and enrolling the next generation of UW-Madison undergraduates. The UW-Madison Office of Admissions and Recruitment (OAR) is inviting applications for an Admissions Counselor for International Case Management. The Office of Admissions and Recruitment is a fast-paced, mission-driven professional recruitment and admission office focusing on the undergraduate population.

Our admissions counselors play a key role in serving our prospective freshmen and transfer students from application to enrollment. The person in this role provides processing support and quality customer service to our growing number of undergraduate applications from first-year and transfer international students. Attention to detail, the ability to communicate clearly, and collaboration skills will be essential for success in this role.

This person will also participate in the holistic application review of a robust and talented applicant pool of international students and provide support across teams for training and process improvements. Familiarity with the college admissions cycle and international educational systems will be beneficial. This position does not travel/recruit. Key Functions/Tasks of this role:
Learn and communicate undergraduate admissions policies, procedures and processes; offer professional, efficient, and friendly service to students/families, school counselors, and the public via email, phone, in-person, and virtually. Manage e-mail cases in Salesforce from international students, both prospective and applicants, in the international queue. Escalate cases as needed Respond to general admissions office e-mail inquiries as appropriate. Maintain a concise and accurate style with electronic communications Conduct holistic application review of international transfer and first-year undergraduate applications Assist international applicants;

identify and interpret external examinations, transcripts and other documents; keep current in knowledge of international curricula through participating in trainings and being an active member of AACRAO Make recommendations for improvements and revisions to customer service processes and international applicant webpage Assist processing team with application completion tasks including, but not limited to:
International document pre-review, document checklist updating, and processing English Language Proficiency exam waiver requests Utilize available technology to access prospective student, applicant, and current student records. This includes the People Soft student information system (SIS), imaging technology, and other electronic records Report out trends in cases from international students through the CRM. Collaborate with international team and other office units to determine solutions.

Serve on office wide, solution focused work groups Understand office document workflow to facilitate appropriate routing of application materials, grade reports and transcripts, test scores, messages, and other application supporting materials Route and/or process imaging documents through knowledge of office business processes (for example: policies and procedures pertaining to application review, international credential evaluation, and final high school transcript review) Train and serve as a resource for Operations and Transfer teams as needed To learn more about working in OAR, please visit OAR’s 'Join Our Team.'

The Admissions Counselor for International Case Management is a Madison-based position with many activities performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
