DescriptionAt Franklin Electric, this role provides a strong foundation at the intersection of marketing, strategy, and finance. You will play a key supporting role in leadership decision-making while developing the skills needed to take on greater ownership of strategic planning, market analysis, and growth efforts over time. The Strategic Planning Associate will support the Global Marketing Manager in driving strategic planning, market intelligence, and Key Strategic Initiative (KSI) tracking across the business segment.
This role is centered on delivering high-impact business insights, using data and analysis to inform strategic decisions and guide key initiatives across the business.
- Support the annual strategic planning process, including preparation of materials, data gathering, and coordination across functional teams
- Assist in development of segment strategy through market sizing, growth analysis, and competitive insights
- Help translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, metrics, and tracking tools
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify key trends, risks, and growth opportunities
- Support development of insights on customer behavior, end-market dynamics, and regulatory influences
- Build and maintain data sets and basic models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and decision-making
- Assist in tracking and reporting of segment Key Strategic Initiatives (KSIs)
- Prepare clear, concise reporting materials for leadership, including performance updates, insights, and recommendations
- Ensure alignment across functions by coordinating inputs from commercial, operations, and finance teams
- Partner with marketing, finance, operations, commercial and product teams to align forecasts, priorities, and strategic initiatives
- Contribute to preparation of executive presentations, internal communications and business updates
- Support market mapping and research to identify potential acquisition or partnership opportunities
- Assist with preliminary screening and organization of pipeline materials
- Support execution of pricing initiatives, including global price actions
- Support development and execution of customer-facing marketing and promotional programs
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, economics, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in marketing, market analysis, strategy, or consulting
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data into clear insights
- Exposure with market research, competitive analysis, and forecasting methodologies
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools; experience building models and executive‑ready presentations
- Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to convey insights clearly to senior leadership
