The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified and highly motivated candidate interested in working as an IS Data Services Senior position!
After an initial training period, this position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position SummaryThis position provides unique section expertise in data retrieval, analysis, and reporting as a member of the Program Finance Section, Bureau of State Highway Programs, (BSHP). Key responsibilities of the incumbent are to interpret and refine the recurrent and ad hoc information needs of analysts and managers throughout the department and to supply data that meets their needs. This position will maintain and improve a library of existing standard reports and scheduled processes in the Financial Integrated Improvement Programming System (FIIPS) application.
The position will also ensure data accuracy in FIIPS and FIIPS-generated reporting through investigative review.
This position is in schedule-range (07-34) with an annual salary of $68,640-$99,259, plus excellent benefits
. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

QualificationsQualified applicants will have experience with all the following:
Experience managing data from multiple sources. Experience may include facilitating collection of data, coordinating/troubleshooting data entry, auditing data input and results, maintaining standards for code documentation, transitioning data output between systems and programming languages, or other related activities.
Experience producing custom reports from multiple data sources. Experience may include identifying reporting needs, developing queries, extracting data subsets (using SQL, SAS, or other), managing a data marketplace (using applications such as Business Intelligence), or other related activities. This may also include testing to ensure that data reports produce the expected outcomes.
Experience utilizing statistics or data analysis techniques. Experience may include application of statistical or data analysis techniques, use of related software (such as Microsoft Excel or R/SPSS/Stata), or other related activities.
Experience in researching and interpreting State and Federal law or regulations.
