Since 2003, Swim&Gym Summer Camp has provided hundreds of campers ages 5 to 12 years old the opportunity to develop active skills to last a lifetime. We have watched our campers grow socially, emotionally, and physically in a safe, positive environment. One-week sessions, providing flexibility to attend camp sessions around summer plans. Since 2025, we have expanded to TWO locations:
Deming Campus & Midvale Campus.
Job Description
Have a blast inspiring campers to have fun and enjoy the outdoors in a well-run camp. Be a leader and a professional role model this summer! It takes great energy, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and patience. Counselors truly get to know the campers, helping them with daily needs, fostering friendships & providing a comfortable learning environment. You will gain valuable leadership skills!
Counselors are expected to facilitate games and crafts, teach sports, adhere to the daily schedule, and participate in theme activities. Responsibility for the kids and a diligent eye for safety is paramount. You will not be teaching swim lessons to the campers.
- Hours 7:45 - 3:45 pm Monday-Friday (June 10th-August 21st)
- Must be at least 18 years old and pass a fingerprint background check.
- Must complete in person and virtual training (minimum 24 hours). In person training may begin as early as May 27th, 2026.
- Aid with camp clean up Saturday August 22nd, 2026
- Supervise 5-10 hours of Extended Care (spread over the summer) (more supervising extended care hours available upon request)
Extended Care staff provides supervision at the beginning and end of the day outside of regular camp hours. The staff engages with campers by playing fun games and activities such as sports, board games, collaborative games, or coloring. Staff will ensure campers are signed in or out, communicate any camp-related messages to the parents, and follow all camp standards and policies.
Responsibility for the campers and an eye for safety are paramount.
Hours 7:00-8:00 am; 3:30-5:30 pm M-F

QUALIFICATIONS- At least 18 years of age.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children; preferably in a daycare, coaching, teaching, tutoring, or day camp setting
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: sports, recreational games, arts and crafts, songs/music, skits, aquatics, etc.
- Previous experience with diverse populations is preferred.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, swim, and be active for up to 8 hours. Ability to lift, hold, and/or move equipment or small children up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings. Will require outdoor work during the summer months. Ability to problem solve and react quickly to situations.
A satisfactory criminal background check and a valid driver’s license are required as a condition of hire.
