Since 2003, Swim&Gym Summer Camp has provided hundreds of campers ages 5–12 with opportunities to build lifelong active skills in a safe, positive, and engaging environment. Our campers grow socially, emotionally, and physically in a supportive camp environment. We offer flexible, one-week sessions to accommodate families’ summer plans and, since 2025, have expanded to two locations:
Deming Campus and Midvale Campus.
Support Team Members play a key role in the daily flow of camp operations. This flexible, part‑time position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, supporting counselors, and helping create a safe and fun camp experience. Team members are expected to model and promote the Campers Code of Conduct: try new things, be kind and helpful, and be safe.
Must complete in person and virtual training (minimum 24 hours). In person training may begin as early as May 27th, 2026.
Aid with camp clean up Saturday August 22nd, 2026
Hours & SchedulingFlexible schedules available ranging from 12.5 hours up to 30 hours per week, based on team member availability and camp needs.
Morning Support & Extended Care 7:00–10:00 AM- Open the facility and assist with daily setup
- Supervise Early Drop-Off / Extended Care
- Sign campers in for the day
- Provide free play or organized activities
- Support regular camp check‑in (8:00–10:00 AM) and help groups get their day started
- Provide lunch breaks for camp counselors
- Take over supervision of camper groups
- Lead games, activities, or free play
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment
- Supervise campers during Extended Care
- Maintain active supervision and camper safety
- Provide free play or organized play opportunities
- Sign campers out to approved guardians
- Communicate any end‑of‑day information to families
- Field Trips:
Additional hours available supporting groups off‑site as an extra counselor. Field trips typically occur on Fridays and may be half‑day or full‑day commitments - Substitute Counselor:
Fill in for the whole day or part of a day when a counselor has scheduled time off or is ill.
- Supervise campers and prioritize safety at all times
- Support counselors during transitions and breaks
- Engage campers in age‑appropriate activities
- Manage camper sign‑in and sign‑out procedures
- Communicate professionally with families and team members
- Follow all camp policies, procedures, and safety standards
- At least 18 years of age
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- Experience or interest in sports, games, arts and crafts, music, or recreation preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations is a plus
- Ability to remain active for extended periods
- Ability to lift or move equipment or children up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in summer conditions
- Ability to problem‑solve and adapt quickly
