Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Estimator will prepare cost estimates for private, municipal, state, and federal entities and support operations staff with the preparation of change orders, subcontracts, material agreements, and cost analysis.

• Prepare cost estimates.
• Interpret plans and specifications.
• Conduct pre-estimate job site reviews.
• Reference and update historical market and competitor research data for use in estimate preparation.
• Submit cost estimates to federal, state, municipal, and private entities using software such as AASHTOWare, Bid Express, Expedite Bid.
• Assemble purchase order and subcontractor documents.
• Attend project setup meetings.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to conduct cost reviews and prepare change orders.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization, or a combination of schooling and relevant work experience.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work individually or as part of a team on multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Considered insurable by insurance standards.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of HCSS software such as Heavy Bid and Heavy Job.
• Project management experience in heavy civil.
