Job Overview

Walbec Group produces high-quality construction materials and delivers professional design, engineering, and construction services through its six companies, including Payne and Dolan, Northeast Asphalt, Zenith Tech, Parisi, Premier Concrete, and Construction Resources Management. The company works on a variety of projects such as bridges, shorelines, and renewable energy sites throughout the Midwest.

Under the direction of the Foreman, we are looking for a Concrete Finisher responsible for safely assisting in the placement of concrete, final finishing of concrete surfaces, and other duties as assigned by the Foreman or other management.

• Smooth concrete in segments to ensure the poured concrete is level.
• Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots.
• Arrange concrete forms and prepare surfaces.
• Level surfaces using special blades, smoothing lumps and bubbles.
• Shape concrete with wood or plastic forms and hold until setting.
• Smooth high spots, fill depressions, and finish corners by hand.
• Use vibrating equipment to fill air pockets.
• Operate crane hand signals safely.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Shoot grades accurately.

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory record;
  Class A CDL strongly desired.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
• Prior construction experience preferred.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and willing to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
• Capability to tolerate and work in variable weather, dirty and dusty environments, and close quarters.
