The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning different aspects of construction. NO DAY IS THE SAME! Employees have the opportunity to have a diverse workload and perform a variety of jobs during all phases of construction. The role entails a wide range of tasks, from basic to difficult.
day in the life:- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
- Load and unload building materials and equipment.
- Assist in cutting materials with appropriate tool(s).
- Support co-workers in lifting materials.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Maintain equipment and tools, keeping in good condition with all safety guards and features in place when in operation.
- Assist Foreman with material, equipment, look ahead, and monitor safety of others.
- Inspect all work to ensure quality and accuracy with levels, rulers, framing squares, and make necessary adjustments.
- Layout and put work in place with minimal direction during construction.
- Accurately complete daily work hours in timekeeping system. This includes using appropriate job numbers, work codes, and equipment allocations.
- Perform demolition of interior/exterior build out in designated areas as assigned with respect towards equipment, property, and safety.
- Install steel stud and/or wood framing/blocking.
- Assist in installing cabinets.
- Assist in hanging drywall and fire taping.
Safety
- Attend and participate in all required safety training and toolbox talks.
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the Company’s safety program (particularly the use of hardhats, safety glasses, and work boots and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture.
- Demonstrate a safety presence, lead by example.
- Experience/related experience.
- High School Diploma and/or GED, preferred.
- Reliable Transportation, required.
- Ability to travel between job sites throughout the day, preferred.
- Ability to speak and understand English, required.
- Maintain Basic Hand Tools.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn multiple trade crafts and safety.
- Great work ethic, punctuality, and dependability.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with others and be a self-starter.
- Communicate professionally with other employees, customers, and management.
- Adaptable to change in the work environment.
