Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage commercial and multi-family construction projects from start to finish. The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating field operations, supervising subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and enforcing safety standards. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively communicate with project stakeholders while delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
- Oversee daily job site operations, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and municipal officials.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop, monitor, and update project schedules while helping manage project costs.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including:
- Daily reports and logs
- RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Submittals
- Project plans and specifications
- Delivery tickets
- Timecards
- Project photographs
- Coordinate inspections, punch lists, commissioning activities, owner training, and project close-out documentation.
- Ensure job sites and construction offices remain clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
- Promote a positive safety culture and enforce all OSHA and company safety policies.
- Mentor and develop field personnel while contributing to continuous improvement across construction operations.
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize project delays and maintain productivity.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Experience supervising commercial and/or multi-family construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and field coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and related project documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project), Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Autodesk Construction Cloud/Build or similar construction management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
