Position:
Batting Cage Attendant

Employment Type

Part-time, Seasonal with performance-based opportunities for year-round employment. This role would likely start sometime in March and end in September depending on operating conditions.

Schedule

On-site, flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on availability and business needs. Preference given to candidates who can consistently work at least 2 shifts per week. This role is weather-dependent.

Starting at $12/hr

Our facility includes a Top 50 golf range, a lit par-3 golf course, three miniature golf courses (one indoor, two outdoor), a restaurant and bar, quick-service dining options, Odie’s Beer Garden, and our popular batting cages. While our facility offers an array of activities, the Batting Cage Attendant works primarily in our 8-cage batting complex, which features real-arm throwing systems with slow, medium, and fast-pitch baseball and softball machines.

About

The Role

The Batting Cage Attendant works outdoors in our batting cage complex and is responsible for monitoring pitching machines, performing minor mechanical adjustments, ensuring guest safety, and communicating issues to the front counter and management. This position involves extended periods of independent work while staying attentive to guest activity and machine function.

This is a seasonal, weather-dependent role. Seasonal team members who excel may be invited to cross-train in other areas and may have opportunities to join our year-round team.

Key Responsibilities Machine Monitoring & Maintenance
  • Oversee the operation of all 8 batting cages to ensure machines run properly
  • Perform simple, minor mechanical adjustments as needed
  • Identify and report larger mechanical issues to management
  • Keep machines stocked with baseballs and softballs; clear stray balls and debris to prevent jams
Guest Safety & Assistance
  • Ensure guests follow all batting cage safety rules, including wearing helmets provided on-site
  • Check bats and helmets for cleanliness and safety
  • Provide basic instructions to guests unfamiliar with the machines
  • Respond to guest questions or concerns about machine operation or safety rules
Communication & Reporting
  • Maintain communication with the front counter and manager via radio
  • Alert the manager to any non-functioning machines requiring repairs beyond minor adjustments
  • Keep the batting cage area clean, organized, and free of hazards
Qualifications & Skills
  • Ability to work independently for long periods (5-8 hour shifts)
  • Willingness to learn simple mechanical adjustments and basic batting cage terminology
  • Strong attention to detail for monitoring safety and equipment functionality
  • Comfortable interacting with guests and enforcing safety policies politely and confidently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with counter staff and management
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., buckets of balls)
  • Comfortable moving throughout the cage area to address jams or assist guests
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
