Lead Interior Designer

We're looking for a Lead Interior Designer to take ownership of our design function, a team of 5 spanning design production and 3D visualization work. This is a leadership role first: your main job is bringing structure, consistency, and repeatable process to how the team operates. You'll also stay hands-on, reviewing and, when it counts, personally stepping into our most complex and highest-stakes projects.

We don't currently have dedicated project managers, so you'll effectively be the organizing backbone for design work, planning, sequencing, and tracking projects end to end.

This is a high-ownership opportunity: you'll have latitude to define how the team runs day to day. As that structure takes hold, there's room for the role, and the title, to grow with it.

• Review and personally step in on our most complex, highest-visibility projects, serving as the direct client contact and setting the standard the rest of the team works to
• Lead and mentor a team of 5 across design production and 3D visualization
• Build and document repeatable workflows for design handoffs, project tracking, and quality review
• Set priorities and timelines across concurrent projects, and hold the team accountable to them
• Partner with production and operations to make sure design specs translate cleanly into manufacturing
• Spot and fix workflow bottlenecks, creating structure where things are currently ad hoc
• Coach and develop the team's skills through regular feedback

• 2-3+ years leading a design or creative production team, with real ownership over how that team's processes and workflows were built or improved, not just following them
• Comfortable working directly with clients on high-visibility projects
• Hands-on comfort with Sketch Up and/or Adobe Illustrator, enough to review and guide your team's work and step in yourself when needed
• Strong organizational instincts and the ability to bring order to a team that's ready for more structure
• Experience in custom or made-to-order production environments (tile, millwork, mosaic, or similar) is a plus
