Position Summary

As a Psychiatrist, you will provide direct medical and psychiatric services to patients of MMHI in accordance with established institution policy, treatment methods, goals of patients and unit policy.

Duties include:

* Performing psychiatric exams, prescribing medications and treatments, psychiatric consultation with patient and family.

* Participating in and/or conducting in-service meetings, staffing, and case conferences.

* Providing consultation to community agencies.

* Conducting physical health assessments.

* Training residents, medical students, and unit staff.

Salary Information

Starting annual salary
* is between $366,400 and $370,614 plus excellent benefits.

* * Salary includes an add-on of $23.00 per hour for board certification in psychiatry. The add-on for board certification eligibility is $8.00 per hour.

* A 12-month probationary period is required.

* Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 10/52.

Job Details

All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have:

* Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain a license prior to appointment, plus a minimum of three (3) years of training in an approved residency in psychiatry. Board Certification in General Psychiatry is expected within three (3) years of hire. Well-qualified candidates will also have one or more of the following:

* Board Certification in General Psychiatry.

* Fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, or geriatric psychiatry.

* Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

* Experience working with incarcerated youth or adults.
