Job Description:Madison College School of Nursing supports clinical practicum experiences for nurses pursuing Master and Doctoral degrees. Graduate students interested in completing practicum hours may be accepted on a space available basis and matched with a faculty preceptor. Application process begins the placement matching. Graduate students are unpaid but must complete a contingent worker hire process and online training modules to access college systems such as Blackboard.
All student records are protected under FERPA. As a graduate student, you will protect individual, identifiable student information encountered during your studies.
Organizational Function and Responsibilities:This position involves instruction and/or project completion at the college, in collaboration with a supervising faculty mentor/preceptor. Responsibilities include curriculum development, designing learning strategies, delivering instruction, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities. The position reports to School of Nursing Department Chairs and faculty preceptors.
Essential Duties:- Responsible for supervised instruction in Nursing Programs including ADN, Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, and related offerings.
- Participate in developing instructional strategies, including hybrid, face-to-face, and online delivery methods.
- Observe in-service meetings, training, and other activities as requested.
- Provide limited, supervised assistance to students with academic issues.
- Follow college policies on testing, record keeping, grading, and office hours.
- Comply with precepted experience documentation and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of current educational methods, assessment, and evaluation strategies.
- Understanding of educational technology and delivery methods.
- Ability to incorporate multicultural perspectives into content and delivery.
- Strong communication and human relations skills with diverse populations.
- Ability to interact effectively in healthcare settings.
- Graduate standing in a Master’s or Doctoral Nursing program requiring precepted learning.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Wisconsin.
- Documentation of educational, health, and background information as required.
