Admissions Recruitment Assistant (Temporary, Part-time Contractor)
Join Luther Seminary as an Admissions Recruitment Assistant to support our Admissions Office in recruiting qualified applicants for graduate certificate, master’s, and other programs.
Job SummaryThe role is temporary and part‑time (15–20 hours per week, November–February) with no benefits. The assistant will help with recruitment and welcome efforts, staff off‑campus events, serve as the initial contact for prospective students, coordinate admissions events, and support multimedia resource creation.
Essential Functions- Assist recruitment and welcome efforts to reach enrollment goals.
- Staff off‑campus outreach visits to faith communities, colleges, ministries, conferences, and other venues.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for prospective students.
- Assist with admissions events, including virtual & in‑person campus visits, open houses, and other recruitment events.
- Help create multimedia recruitment resources.
- Travel and work occasional evenings/weekends when needed.
- Accompany students, advise on program fit, admissions requirements, application process, financial aid, and residential life.
- Communicate proactively via phone, email, virtual, and face‑to‑face interactions.
- Maintain accurate admissions records in the database.
- Support campus culture valuing diversity and inclusion.
- Represent Luther Seminary positively to students and community.
- Execute administrative tasks, including travel reports and spending tracking.
- Attend meetings with supervisor, Enrollment Team, and others as needed.
- Perform other functions as assigned.
- Understanding, appreciation, and commitment to Luther Seminary’s mission, vision, welcome statement, and ABIDE framework.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree; 1–2 years of admissions/recruitment experience in higher education or ministry/nonprofit. - Preferred:
Master’s degree in a theological field; recent alumni of Luther Seminary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable with public speaking.
- Ability to articulate personal faith, handle confidential information.
- Intercultural competency, relationship‑building, customer service experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and relationship‑management databases.
- Highly organized, proactive, adaptable; ability to travel.
- Familiarity with vocational discernment and Lutheran church bodies helpful.
- Requires use of hands, arms, and communication tools; may need to stand, walk, or sit.
- Fast‑paced office environment with moderate to loud noise.
- Travel locally and nationally required.
22 USD per hour.
