Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking to fill a tenured faculty position at the level of Associate Professor in the area of social psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a successful research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and supervise master's and doctoral students. The Department is a multi-disciplinary and highly collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science, that values, prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching and (undergraduate student) mentoring. They will contribute to an environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community.

Candidates for this position may be eligible for participation in the Excellence in Mentoring Initiative. The Excellence in Mentoring Initiative aims to recruit outstanding faculty who, in addition to their demonstrated excellence or strong potential in research and teaching, have demonstrated the ability and commitment to mentor underprepared or under-resourced students to help them achieve academic success and the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

In this case, the faculty member will join a cohort of Excellence in Mentoring Initiative faculty across campus and become part of a growing community of scholars dedicated to inclusive mentorship and student success.

Successful applicants will conduct scholarly research, teach graduate and undergraduate classes, mentor students, and provide service to the department, college, university, and academic community nationally or internationally.

The successful candidate, as a member of the College of L&S, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to excellence among all aspects of their teaching, mentoring, research, and service.
