The Office of Early Childhood Education (OECE) supports students and families by providing early learning programs for children from birth to second grade in a variety of settings. OECE’s mission is to provide all children and their families with access to high-quality, equitable early learning experiences leading to success in elementary school and beyond.
Responsibilities- Develop and oversee systems for student enrollment and ISBE reporting procedures
- Prepare surveys, reports, and dashboards for various internal and external audiences;
Coordinate data-related projects and initiatives - Clean, code, and organize datasets as needed;
Ensure data quality and integrity - Collaborate with internal staff to identify, recommend, and implement data system and procedure changes;
Facilitate relationships and support to other department specific data analysts - Communicate with broad spectrum of stakeholders at varying levels
- Collaborate with business users to analyze, define and document systems, data sources and business requirements for analytical needs related to department objectives
- Establish and ensure adherence to a set of guiding principles for analytic practice
- Act as a liaison and subject matter expert across the district and to external partners and ISBE
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, measurement, psychology, social science, public policy, economics, or related field including quantitative coursework
- Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in a role requiring data analytics, data system management, relationship management, and consultative skills
- Ability to write code with data analytic tools (SAS, R, SQL, SPSS, STATA, etc.) and the ability to use SAS preferred
- Exceptional oral and written communication, problem solving, organizational and project management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to deliver reports and online tools in a fast‑paced environment, respond immediately to multiple constituencies and meet established deadlines
- Ability to work in a team, with technical and non-technical personnel, and across departmental boundaries
- Flexibility to meet changing departmental needs
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
