Job Description Summary
Dual Credit Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the ongoing development of instructional strategies that promote student success. They teach Fox Valley Technical College courses in high schools, enabling students to earn college credits while preparing for careers and further education.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Learning Facilitation – Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support engagement. Employ multiple delivery methodologies and technologies, including hybrid, in‑person, virtual, and online instruction.
- Assessment – Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students succeed, using data to measure outcomes and implement improvement strategies based on evidence.
- Classroom Management – Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, manage the instructional environment with emphasis on safety and housekeeping, and ensure opportunities for student engagement evaluation.
- Team Participation – Support the college by engaging with the department and K‑12 Partnerships office, staying current with internal and external changes, and promoting the college and its programs.
- Student Success & Support – Serve as an advocate for students, collaborating with Student Services to retain students, close achievement gaps, and promote success.
- Professional Development – Continuously improve knowledge and skills through professional development and current occupational practice, maintaining DPI licensure.
- Employed as a K‑12 teacher within the agreed upon school district.
- Associate degree or higher at the level being taught (Bachelor’s degree preferred for occupational courses).
- For General Studies courses:
Master’s degree or higher in the discipline or subfield, or an equivalent combination of graduate credits or a DPI license. - Occupational courses:
Degree or licensure at the level being taught, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree. - Minimum of two full‑time years (or equivalent part‑time hours) of occupational experience in the target job, with at least one year within five years of appointment.
- Two years of post‑secondary teaching experience from the past five years may qualify for an experience waiver.
- Current DPI license (required at time of application).
- Proficiency with a learning management system.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing demands.
- Knowledge of learner‑centered instruction, assessment, and strategies that address achievement gaps across race, gender, and disability.
- Mobility: moving around the classroom or instructional space.
- Standing and Sitting: extended periods during lectures, demonstrations, grading, and office hours.
- Lifting and Carrying: handling materials or equipment up to 50 pounds, as needed.
- Speech and Hearing: clear speech and ability to hear students.

Skills:
precise hand movements for writing, demonstrations, or instructional technology use. - Visual Acuity: adequate vision to read materials and operate instructional equipment.
- Health and Safety: ensuring a safe learning environment and responding to emergencies.
- Repetitive Motions: performing typing and other repetitive tasks without discomfort.
- Communication: clear verbal and written skills for interaction with employees, candidates, and stakeholders.
Work is typically performed in a classroom and online via a learning management system, during the day. Instruction must be completed in person, but the environment may change based on college needs.
