Job Summary:

The Military-Connected Program Coordinator is an exciting new position within the Student Success and Belonging portfolio of the Student Affairs division. This role is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and promoting both academic and personal achievement for our student community, with a special focus on military-connected students, veterans, and their families.

The coordinator will be a member of both the Belonging Programs and University Veteran Services teams. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Belonging Programs with a dotted line to a University Veteran Services manager. Through dynamic collaboration and teamwork, the coordinator will develop and implement original programs, as well as contribute to the ongoing development and execution of existing programs.

Key partners in this role include the Centers for Student Success and Belonging, various Student Affairs units, and other campus and community organizations that engage, support, and celebrate students, particularly student veterans, service members, and their families.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
  • Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
  • Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
  • Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
  • Create, plan, and support programs and initiatives that connect military-connected students to campus
  • Attend weekly staff meetings of the Belonging Programs team and the University Veteran Services team, fostering relationships, communication, and collaboration.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders

Compensation:

The expected minimum starting salary for this position is $50,000.00 annually. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working directly with college students
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of student development and the complexity of social identities
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of identities and communities, including, but not limited to, military-connected students
  • Proven record of strong program planning, coordination, and organization skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and digital)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events (100+ attendees)
  • Experience facilitating educational workshops and/or dialogue groups
  • Experience working with military-connected students
Education:

Bachelor's Required

Master's Preferred
