Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Reports to: Principal

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in the assigned core academic subject area.
• Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans.
• Support student development in intellectual, emotional, physical, and social domains.
• Manage classroom behavior and establish a positive learning environment.
• Coaching responsibilities for girls and boys sports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
• Demonstrated competency in the assigned core academic subject area.
• Experience through student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• For Physical Education Teachers: current AED and CPR certificates.
• Preferred certifications: SPED, PE.
