Three days per week from 9 am – 3:20 pm.

Job Description

St. Ambrose Academy is seeking an Academic Assistant to join our team of committed educators as we strive to assist parents in the formation of their children through a classical education rooted in the Catholic faith. The primary responsibility of an Academic Assistant is to coach students in cultivating strong study habits while supervising study halls; secondary responsibilities include lunch supervision and the direction of a student cleaning crew at the end of the day.

Study Halls rose Academy are an integral part of the classical curriculum. As students prepare for graduation and look back on what skills they have learned and are particularly grateful for, studying skills are often mentioned! The persistence to overcome distraction or persevere through a particularly difficult assignment gives them the self-confidence that they can overcome greater and greater challenges. Study Halls are intentionally managed to achieve these outcomes.

All study halls begin with a period of silent study, which helps students work through assignments on their own. Most study halls will follow that with “collaboration time,” in which students are able to work together on group projects, collaborate on assignments, or just hang out.

St. Ambrose Academy is a 6–12 grade private Catholic classical academy located in Madison, Wisconsin with a rapidly growing student body and a vibrant Catholic community.

  • Daily prayer, regular access to the Eucharist and Confession
  • Emphasis on formation of the whole person
  • Respectful students and supportive families
Requirements

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic, willing to make an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium, whose life of faith serves as an example to our students and families. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; and demonstrate a desire to share their gifts and talents with the students and administration of the school.

St. Ambrose Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in its hiring.
