Job Summary
Organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including responsibility for staffing. Assists with policy development and organizes resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
LocationThis position's primary location is at the Division of Extension headquarters at 3500 University Ave., Madison, Wisconsin.
Work ConditionsRemote work may be performed up to two days per week and requires an approved Flexible Work Arrangement. Some work is required onsite at the campus work location. Evening or weekend work may be required occasionally to meet program needs.
Travel and TransportationApplicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for periodic in‑state travel. Employees are expected to make necessary arrangements for transportation for position responsibilities.
Key Job Responsibilities- Schedules day‑to‑day activities for program staff, students, and community volunteers.
- Supervises and project‑manages the work of Student Assistants supporting the educational program portfolio.
- Schedules and secures logistics and resources for outreach programs.
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to support outreach programs.
- Provides general office support for educational experiences supporting the Institute Associate Director and State Program Specialists priorities.
- Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development.
- Directs implementation of program policies and procedures.
The minimum annual starting salary for the position is $59,603, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax‑advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System pension fund.
Required Qualifications- Two (2) years of relevant professional or volunteer service in education or youth development experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and direct program implementation for youth audiences or relevant experience.
- Experience developing and implementing policy, practices, and systems related to youth or adult programming.
- Experience effectively supervising and directing the work of volunteers or student employees.
- Experience evaluating program delivery, outcomes, impact, and effectiveness.
- Fiscal program budget responsibility or experience.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree. Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human development, family studies, or related field.
