Job Summary
Creative Learning Preschool is hiring part‑time teachers to work 2–4 hour shifts, 10 hours per week minimum. The position is non‑remote, located in Madison, WI, with a minimum wage of $14.00 per hour. Five positions are available.
Department OverviewCLP offers a nurturing environment for children 6 weeks old through 4‑year‑old kindergarten, using a play‑based High Scope curriculum and integrating local community resources. Teachers plan weekly lessons, incorporate neighborhood visits, and serve family‑style meals with fresh, garden‑sourced ingredients. Classrooms benefit from support staff to maintain low staff‑to‑child ratios.
ResponsibilitiesTeachers provide a wide range of stimulating experiences for children to meet individual intellectual and emotional needs. They facilitate children’s play activities, support problem‑solving skills, participate in play, encourage positive social relationships, scaffold self‑help skills in eating, dressing, toileting, and other routines, and serve as a positive role model.
Qualifications- Experience in early childhood education or related coursework is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Passion for early childhood education and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
- Ability to collectively and compassionately solve problems as they arise.
- Completion of high school or its equivalent, as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
- Pediatric CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to complete licensing required pre‑service certifications, including the Wisconsin Registry.
Some positions may require physical activities such as bending, stooping, walking, or lifting up to 50 pounds.
