Purpose of Position:

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, we are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and dedicated Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will empower students with essential, real-world skills for this year and beyond. You will develop and deliver a comprehensive curriculum that spans culinary arts, nutrition, financial literacy, human development, and consumer skills.

The ideal candidate will foster a supportive, hands-on classroom environment in which students learn to navigate the challenges of living and working in a diverse, global society.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching duties
    • Supervision of students
    • Grading
    • Lesson planning and implementation.
  • Follow and participate in the development of the curriculum for courses taught
    • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students
    • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations, to build student engagement, collaboration, and independence with complex tasks
    • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
  • General management of classroom and lab areas.
