Special Education Teacher

St. Ambrose Academy is seeking a Special Education Teacher with a background in math and/or Latin to support students with learning differences, particularly dyslexia, in Geometry, Algebra 2, and Latin I.

• Co‑teach Geometry, Algebra 2, and Latin I with classroom teachers.
• Support students with Learning Support (LS) plans through differentiated instruction.
• Develop dyslexia‑friendly curriculum using Math and Latin texts.
• Incorporate multi‑sensory teaching strategies (auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic).
• Create instructional videos, reference charts, and modified pacing guides.
• Provide weekly one‑on‑one support sessions for students.
• Assess student progress through homework, quizzes, and tests.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and resources.

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Background in math and/or Latin (instructional experience preferred).
• Experience working with students with dyslexia or learning differences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Practicing Catholic, willing to make an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium, whose life of faith serves as an example to our students and families.

• Experience with Geometry, Algebra II, and/or Lingua Latina Familia Romana.
• Secondary classroom or co‑teaching experience.
