Job Summary
The University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, Clinical Practice, Innovation and Research (CliPIR) Division invites applications for one 12‑month tenure‑track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor with tenure.
Faculty members develop independent research programs and teach Pharm.
D. students and graduate students in the Health Services Research in Pharmacy (HSRP) program. Topics include health services, pharmacy law, medication safety, quality improvement, implementation science, and elective pharmacy courses. Faculty also serve on school and university committees and contribute to service to the school, university, and profession.
Applicants will be considered for all three professor titles; the title and pay level are commensurate with experience.
Key Job Responsibilities- Teach courses in the HSRP graduate program and the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
- Mentor graduate students in the HSRP program.
- Serve on school and university committees and professional organizations.
- Develop an independent, externally funded research program and establish collaborative research leading to publishable scholarship.
Assistant Professor: evidence of potential for an independent research program and teaching at the Pharm.
D. and graduate level.
Associate or Full Professor: sustained extramural grant support and demonstrated teaching, research, and scholarly proficiency meeting UW‑Madison and School of Pharmacy tenure criteria.
Preferred QualificationsPriority research areas include:
- Large data science to guide the development and evaluation of care interventions
- Pharmaco‑epidemiology
- Pharmacoeconomics/health economics and outcomes research
- Health system transformation and implementation
- Pharmacy service evaluation and improvement
- Medication use safety and quality
- Patient‑centered care and/or patient‑provider‑centered outcomes
Methodological expertise in quasi‑experimental and observational designs, qualitative and mixed‑methods research, large datasets, biostatistics, or implementation science frameworks is desired. Background in pharmacy practice is desirable but not mandatory. Desired attributes include mentoring underrepresented scholars, establishing public and private sector partnerships, and experience with innovation co‑design, especially with underserved populations.
EducationPh.D. (or equivalent) in public health policy, health services research, pharmaco‑epidemiology, or a related field.
