Lecturer

The Finance, Investment, and Banking Department seeks a candidate with the ability to educate high-achieving students enrolled in Finance courses at the undergraduate or masters level. The selected candidate will teach multiple sections.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate strong expertise in Finance concepts developed through teaching experience, industry and/or research activities.

The mission of our Finance program is to prepare students to master and apply Finance skills effectively in the contemporary workplace. Our lecturers strive to help students achieve stated learning outcomes through both independent content creation and collaboration where appropriate.

The Finance curriculum is intentionally sequenced to help students build upon skills year-over-year as they prepare to become workplace ready. We encourage our lecturers to engage with industry and to build relationships with students, alumni, and external partners. This position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of course(s) listed, or similar courses within the department. The FTE for this position has the potential to fluctuate depending on the number of classes taught.

This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.

This position can be full or part-time, between 10-100% FTE.

Key responsibilities include developing instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction, serving as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations, and facilitating classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.

The Wisconsin School of Business, Finance, Investment, and Banking offers this position with compensation that is negotiable.

Required qualifications include a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching or working in Finance or a related field. Preferred qualifications include a strong commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and master's levels, a record of high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, enthusiasm for collaborative learning environments, and an interest in educational technologies and innovation.

An MBA or MS in Finance or related field is required, with a PhD in Finance preferred.

To apply, click the "Apply" button to start the application process. You will be prompted to upload a resume and a letter of qualifications detailing your training and experience relating to the required and preferred qualifications referenced above.
