Academic Success Coach, Student Success Initiatives

The Academic Success Coach, Student Success Initiatives is a flexible student success and enrollment position supporting academic progress, retention, and enrollment within Graduate Business Enrollment. The role combines academic success coaching with targeted student outreach, admissions support, research, data, and special projects.

Approximately 40% of the position will focus on academic success coaching and retention, including proactive outreach to students who have not registered, have become inactive, or may be at risk of stopping out. The role will implement targeted outreach strategies developed by the Director of Graduate Business Enrollment, identify barriers to continued enrollment, and reconnect students with the University.

The position will also provide flexible coverage across advising and admissions during peak enrollment periods. Additional responsibilities include enrollment research campaigns, maintaining student rosters and shared resources, monitoring the advising inbox, supporting data and student experience projects, and completing other special projects as assigned.

This position is hybrid with two days per week required to work on campus.

Responsibilities Academic Success & Retention
  • Provide academic success coaching, registration support, and academic planning to graduate business students.
  • Conduct targeted outreach to students who have not registered, have become inactive, or may be at risk of stopping out.
  • Develop and execute student re-engagement and retention campaigns in collaboration with enrollment leadership.
  • Identify barriers to enrollment and connect students with appropriate University resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions, outreach, and outcomes.
  • Provide advising and registration coverage during peak periods.
Admissions & Enrollment Support
  • Provide admissions counseling and enrollment support during peak periods.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective students and applicants through phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Support research-based admissions campaigns and follow-up initiatives.
  • Provide coverage for admissions staff during peak enrollment periods.
Special Projects, Research & Data
  • Lead and support special projects related to student success, retention, enrollment, data, and student experience.
  • Conduct research and targeted outreach campaigns to identify opportunities to improve enrollment and retention.
  • Maintain and update student rosters and shared resources used by the advising team.
  • Support data collection, tracking, reporting, and other enrollment-related projects.
  • Assist with student record projects, including grade entry and other administrative updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, and the student experience.
Team Support & Other Duties
  • Monitor and assist with the shared advising inbox and ensure student requests are appropriately addressed or routed.
  • Provide flexible coverage for advising and admissions based on team needs and seasonal enrollment cycles.
  • Collaborate with faculty, advisors, admissions counselors, and other University offices to support students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, professional development, and student events as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications Necessary Education or

Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in higher education, admissions, advising, student services, enrollment management, or a related field.
  • Experience with student information systems, customer relationship management systems, or other technology used to organize records and communication preferred.

  • Ability to build productive relationships with students, colleagues, faculty, and University partners.
