Job Summary:

The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) invites applications for the CALS Scholarship Manager position. This position would be dedicated to the management of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) scholarship portfolio including the following responsibilities:

- Support the development, implementation, stewardship, awarding, and maintenance of CALS scholarships.
-Manage scholarship processes within the campus scholarship management system, the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH).
- Ensure scholarship processes help to accomplish recruitment and retention goals for CALS as well as meet donor intent.
- Work with UW Foundation, UW System Trust Fund staff, and CALS Business Services to coordinate the fund management, budgeting, and award reconciliation of scholarships.
- Serve as the CALS point-of-contact for scholarship questions and inquiries from students, families, and campus colleagues.

This position requires a minimum 2 days a week on-site (one day at CALS in Agricultural Hall, one day at OSFA in 333 East Campus Mall).

Job Responsibilities:

  • 5% Unique Responsibility:
    Demonstrates commitment to the University’s mission statement, particularly to be sensitive and responsive to those groups which have been underserved by higher education. Participation in related learning activities is expected
  • 15% May assist with budgetary oversight for the school/college
  • 25% Provides support in the administration of the school/college component of the electronic scholarship system including the application, awarding process, and donor communication
  • 5% Assists with the training and support for units and students in use of the scholarship system
  • 15% Builds strong relationships with campus partners, academic departments, Human Resources, Business Services, and external stakeholders to ensure effective practices in scholarship activities
  • 10% Works with internal stakeholders to identify issues and work towards solutions to problems as they arise in all levels of scholarship activities including student application processes, application review, scholarship awarding, account reconciliation, and donor communication and outreach
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
  • 25% Oversees scholarship activities to ensure appropriate use of resources to align with and accomplish recruitment and retention goals and meet donor intent, as well as ensure compliance with policies and regulations
