Lecturer in Social Work- SW; Renewable

Lecturer Position

The Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work is hiring for one renewable lecturer position to teach the following course each spring semester in the full-time Master of Social Work Program (MSW):
Social Work 636, 'Social Work in American Indian Communities:
The Indian Child Welfare Act'.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Prepare an approved course syllabus in the context of the School's curriculum design and in light of any accreditation parameters.
• Hold regularly scheduled office hours.
• Construct, conduct, and grade appropriate course assignments (exams, papers, quizzes, etc.)
• Invited (advised) to attend faculty meetings with voice, but no vote.

Key job responsibilities include facilitating classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, serving as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations, and developing instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.

Compensation:
The minimum salary is $50,000 at 100% FTE for a full academic year. Actual salary will be prorated based on FTE and number of days worked. Required qualifications include a minimum of two years post MSW practice experience, expertise in the Indian Child Welfare Act, an earned Master of Social Work by employment start date, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include a record of excellence in teaching courses in the subject area and/or related work experience, demonstrated commitment to student success, and experience engaging with community partnerships and program development.

Education:

Master of Social Work (MSW) required.
