The University of Wisconsin-Madison Mead Witter School of Music is looking for an Assistant Professor of Classical Double Bass. This is a full-time, tenure-track position where the successful candidate will lead the classical double bass program, teach lessons to undergraduate and graduate students, and mentor MM and DMA students. Responsibilities include conducting studio classes, teaching courses in repertoire and pedagogy, and contributing to the school's strategic goals in modern transformation and new music.
The position starts on August 23, 2027.Candidates are expected to maintain an active professional profile and build relationships with artistic institutions. They will also be responsible for recruiting students for the double bass program and fostering a supportive learning environment. The role includes teaching a studio of up to 17 students, mentoring, and possibly teaching courses in chamber music or pedagogy.
