Position Details:CPH has an opening in our Sanford, FL location for a Mechanical Engineer - PE with 5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial design. This position may be eligible for hybrid flexibility.

Job Description:The Senior Mechanical Engineer will support and lead projects from inception to completion, designing mechanical and plumbing systems, and mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities include maintaining project schedules, interfacing with clients, and delivering high-quality solutions. Strong project management, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical and plumbing systems independently.
- Prepare and revise documentation across project phases.
- Manage mechanical engineering deliverables across multiple projects.
- Develop project scope, budgets, and design approaches.
- Prepare data sheets and specifications for equipment procurement.
- Conduct quality assurance and control.
- Assist in creating standards and specifications.
- Participate in client/vendor/contractor meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating.
- Lead project specifications and document coordination.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida or ability to attain reciprocity.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering and design experience, including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Boilers, Chillers, and Central Heating systems.
- Experience designing Mechanical/HVAC systems for various markets.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, energy/load simulation software, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Revit.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and design principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking, independent judgment, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to schedules and budgets.
- Flexible work schedule and detail-oriented approach.
