Senior Drafter​/P& Designer

Sharpe Engineering & Equipment is seeking an experienced Senior Drafter / P& to lead the development of high-quality process and piping drawings for food & beverage capital projects. This technical expert will own P&, support drafting standards, and provide guidance with a small drafting team—ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with engineering and client requirements.

You'll collaborate closely with process, mechanical, and controls engineers while supporting site visits, field verification, and project documentation that reflects Sharpe's commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

• Develop, modify, and maintain AutoCAD P&, general arrangements, and fabrication details
• Perform site visits to gather field data and convert existing equipment and pipe into accurate drawings
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure drawings meet functional and operational requirements
• Oversee and mentor a team of drafters, ensuring accuracy and adherence to CAD standards
• Maintain drawing libraries, templates, and standards, support integration of AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Participate in project reviews and client meetings to support drafting deliverables
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, food safety regulations, and customer standards
• Travel to client sites for field verification and project support (approximately 30%)

• 10+ years of drafting and P&n experience in process industries; food & beverage preferred
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD P&; experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D is a plus
• Strong understanding of process equipment, piping layouts, valves, and instrumentation
• Proven ability to take accurate field measurements and convert conditions into drawings
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior drafters
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Valid U.S. driver's license; ability to obtain a passport if needed
