Safety​/Model Inventory of Roadway Elements; MIRE Professional - Limited Term

Introduction

Join the Division of Transportation Investment Management's (DTIM) Data Management Section as a Safety/Model Inventory of Roadway Elements (MIRE) Professional (IS Data Services - Professional)! This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building office in Madison, WI and requires working from there at least 2 days per week. All employees following a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin.

This LTE position will provide support to the GIS Geo-editor team in the development and management of a standard geographically based dataset as they are assuming the maintenance of and creation of safety data. This data will serve to meet FHWA’s Model Inventory of Roadway Elements (MIRE) data requirements and internal business needs of others, such as the Bureau of Traffic Operations and the Bureau of State Highway Programs.

This position will also assist with the ARNOLD Initiative activities to maintain the linear referencing systems (LRS systems). It is anticipated this position will work up to 40 hours per week.

This position is in schedule-range (07-35) with a rate of $25.16 per hour.

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year). Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions. LTE positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.

• Experience with data maintenance and analysis using Esri’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Software, which must include ArcGIS Pro (preferred) or Arc Map.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Training or experience with linear referencing systems (LRS) tools and applications.
• Training or experience utilizing transportation data, including highway safety data.
