Sr. Project Engineer, Electrical

Overview

The Senior Project Engineer, Electrical is responsible for the definition, planning, coordination, and execution of electromechanical product development, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing process improvement projects. He or she ensures project budgets, schedules, and product cost targets are accurately forecasted and executed to meet company requirements. The role maintains regular communication with the project team, design partners, and management, and provides an opportunity to learn the inner workings of the R&D department and the broader Orascoptic business.

• Evaluate and define electromechanical parts and systems.
• Serve as the electrical engineering lead, performing analysis, design, documentation, and prototyping as needed; review designs and deliverables from design partners.
• Assure product quality by designing testing methods, testing prototypes, and confirming manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Determine product and project specifications by studying product design, marketing and customer requirements, and performance standards; complete technical studies and prepare cost estimates.
• Plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, set project schedules, calculate time requirements, sequence tasks, and assign personnel to phases.
• Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress and risks, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, building networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Support identification and qualification of design partners and suppliers.
• Maintain emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Support Envista Business System and FDA/ISO compliance by adhering to all procedures and work instructions.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum five years in engineering, product development, and project management.
• Skills: Proficiency in electrical design software such as Altium; project estimation and scheduling skills; ability to work independently and allocate time among several tasks; strong communication and writing skills.

  Cross‑cultural experience managing product development with partners and outsourcing; experience protecting IP; familiarity with Product Data Management tools such as Agile and Master Control; knowledge of FDA, ISO, and GMP requirements.

Physical demands:

Salary range: $112,800 - $137,900. The total compensation package may include an annual performance bonus, medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401K match, and other applicable plans. Salary decisions depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, experience, and performance.
