Renewable Electrical Engineer Designer

Responsibilities

• Design commercial and utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), and microgrid projects ranging from 100kW to 100MW+.
• Create and develop engineering drawings and electrical designs using AutoCAD and related engineering software.
• Develop and analyze energy production and power system models using tools such as PVSyst, Helio Scope, SKM, and ETAP.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution.
• Support permitting activities, project documentation, and design change management processes.
• Improve AutoCAD standards, workflows, procedures, and overall engineering efficiencies.
• Research, test, and evaluate electrical systems and components while supporting continuous professional development and industry best practices.

• Associate's degree in Applied Science, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in computer drafting/design utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Preferred 3 years of experience supporting electrical power systems within renewable energy, industrial, consulting, or professional services environments.
• Experience supporting Solar PV, BESS, microgrid, or other utility-scale renewable energy projects is highly desired.

• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, methods, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred.
• Proficiency with computer-assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, MATLAB, PVSyst, Helio Scope, or similar tools.

• Salary Range: $69,607 - $88,638 annually.

This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for one to five years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
