Systems Engineer, Operations Manager
In response to increased concurrent projects for the design and delivery of our datacenters, Oracle is recruiting a Principal Data Center Commissioning Lead. The role is a senior multi-disciplinary datacenter design lead with a focus on IST and commissioning activities, charged with the direct interface between Oracle and our datacenter partners in the completion and testing of building systems to bring a datacenter reliably to ready for service.
With extensive experience designing and delivering mission‑critical facilities and professional qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering with a commissioning focus, the role is responsible for setting Oracle’s stance for commissioning activities and working with our design and collocation partners to ensure successful IST and move into operation.

Responsibilities Project Management-Strategy Alignment- Facilitates the commissioning of multiple projects and other design and engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry standards.
- Leverages expertise to influence contract administration including generation and review of contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents.
- Aligns cross‑functional teams on the budget and resources required for timely project completion.
- Fosters relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to communicate expectations and ensure reports are provided reports on project updates.
- Guides the development of commissioning scripts and related technical documentation.
- Influences collaborations with the general contractor to develop Systems Manuals documentation to serve as a reference for Data Center Operations personnel.
- Provides expertise in collaborations with engineering teams to create data center designs and specifications that align to operations and reliability requirements (e.g., power capacity, cooling systems), ensuring electrical and mechanical critical systems (e.g., electrical and mechanical plant, life safety, fire suppression systems, and control systems) are incorporated.
- Reviews analyses of key performance indicators (KPIs) throughout systems testing and recommends solutions to address observed trends or anomalies.
- Resolves highly complex, non‑routine issues with implementing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Drives development of resolutions to common and repeating cases of issues.
- Aligns team to best practices to troubleshoot and mitigate issues and reduce recurrence by aligning with major stakeholders.
- Prioritizes and updates quality and safety standards ensuring safety throughout project lifecycle.
- Facilitates training programs for teams to ensure alignment on safety standards.
- Stays up to date on industry standards and best practices.
- Ensures external stakeholders and vendors maintain a common understanding of quality and safety guidelines to facilitate compliance.
- Reports and addresses safety and security issues as they arise.
- Manages and provides direction on timelines, deliverables, and budgets when applicable for critical high‑impact projects or initiatives that impact the line of business, ensuring timely completion and adherence to requirements. Anticipates and plans for shifts in resources or timelines based on changing business priorities, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Influences cross‑functional leaders and external stakeholders to gain alignment on strategic objectives. Fosters partnerships with key business leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers, identifying opportunities for expanding partnerships and promoting long‑term organizational success. Champions transparency and inclusivity by actively seeking, listening to, and incorporating diverse perspectives.
