Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will develop, mentor, and manage the Mechanical Engineering Team, setting goals and assignments, motivating staff, and leading projects to meet objectives and deadlines. The Manager will improve design, engineering processes, and documentation to meet professional standards and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and NRC regulations.
CompensationBase salary range: $130,000 – $155,000 per year plus comprehensive compensation package.
Responsibilities- Hire, manage, and review engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Provide direction and motivation for teams of professional engineers and technicians.
- Work effectively with project managers and other functional managers to develop coherent, achievable project requirements, plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Facilitate the accomplishment of project milestones within the Mechanical Engineering Team.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to manage engineering changes using robust change control techniques.
- Ensure completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines, making alterations when necessary.
- Develop team standard operating procedures that ensure effective and professional product development.
- Support Business Development efforts by participating in customer interfaces and supplying relevant technical information to meet bid requirements.
- Develop budgets and capital expenditure needs for the department.
- Develop and manage business relationships with contractors and suppliers to support project requirements and ensure on‑time delivery.
- BS in Engineering or related field (advanced education or certifications a plus).
- Ten+ years of experience in a technical industry, preferably leading an engineering team.
- Proficient leadership and management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Adaptable to change in the work environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Knowledge of principles, techniques, tools, and software.
- Excellent computer skills, MS Office and Solid Works proficiency.
- Experience with business processes in ISO 9001 or similar environment.
