Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design mechanical HVAC systems for a variety of building types, from concept through construction documents
- Coordinate closely with architectural and engineering departments to produce integrated, well-coordinated drawing packages
- Manage project schedules and deliverables, ensuring timely completion aligned with overall project milestones
- Assist with construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and preparing observation reports
- Communicate effectively with internal project teams, clients, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including internal training sessions and continuing education opportunities
- Support senior engineers and project leads with technical calculations, system selections, and equipment specifications as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred; strong candidates without a degree will be considered)
- 0-5 years of experience in HVAC system design or mechanical engineering within an architectural or engineering firm; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with HVAC system design principles, load calculations, and equipment selection - formal experience helpful but not required for motivated candidates
- Proficiency or willingness to learn industry-standard design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar)
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, coordinated technical drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable working in a team-oriented, multi-discipline environment
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a genuine drive to grow professionally
- EIT certification (or progress toward PE licensure) is a plus, but not required
