Utility Specialist - Transportation Specialist Advanced

The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is recruiting for a Utility Specialist (Transportation Specialist Advanced) to join our Southwest Team.

This full time permanent position can be headquartered out of Madison or La Crosse . Southwestern Wisconsin is a great place to live and work!

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD Madison, WI or LaCrosse, WI office at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary

This position will serve as the Utility Specialist for Major Projects in the Southwest Region Technical Services Section. This position works under general supervision, performing all facets of liaison and coordination activities performed by utility engineers. Responsible for workload scheduling and tracking for all designated Interstate project activities. Actively engages in utility conflict resolution activities and monitors the submission of all documents related to utilities to central office.

Work requires knowledge and understanding of project plan development, tracking systems including the Transportation Utility Management Systems (TUMS), program controls with Milestone Reports, Full Production and Critical Project and PS&E Trak.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $68,640 - $91,520, plus excellent benefits
. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
