Job Opportunity
Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting. This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).
Job DescriptionThe position will work with the functional business groups within Department of Corrections (DOC), Bureau of Technology Management (BTM), and other state agencies to ensure that project implementation, maintenance, and planning is completed for the agency’s server and telecom environments. Requires working knowledge of project management along with understanding the concepts of networking, telecommunication systems, and server infrastructure. To accomplish this, the appropriate candidate will utilize strong interpersonal skills, including superior oral and written communication competences and an aptitude for organization.
In-state, day travel in State-owned vehicles can be expected. Occasional long hours are possible but limited.
Highly qualified applicants need:
- Complex problem determination and resolution skills.
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Infrastructure industry standards, including data centers, server farms/clusters, storage pools/arrays, networking topologies, and associated best practices.
- Working knowledge of cloud-hosted technologies and methodologies
- Working knowledge of Telecommunication concepts such as SIP, H323 and other VoIP technologies
- Minimally qualified applicants must have:
- Strong Leadership and Facilitation Skills.
