Municipal Team Leader
Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to move into a leadership role? Do you want to work for a firm where you’ll be an employee‐owner and generously rewarded for individual and firm successes? We are seeking a Municipal Team Leader in our Madison, WI office. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing, mentoring, and growing engineering staff. You’ll also use your strong project and client management skills to serve existing clients and add new municipal clients in the Madison market.
Goals & Responsibilities
This position will allow the ideal candidate the opportunity to:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of technical professionals
- Identify, develop, maintain, and manage a diverse portfolio of clients
- Be a technical resource on municipal projects, including staff training, QA/QC and occasional project management
- Be the primary point of contact with clients and subconsultants
- Work alongside the Madison Office Director on high level corporate strategy and initiatives
- Directly interact with the firm’s executives
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a related degree)
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Wisconsin (or a related registration)
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively more responsible experience on a variety of engineering projects, with at least 5 of those years in a project management and/or business development role
- Experience with various aspects of civil engineering including water distribution, sanitary sewage collection, water resources, transportation, land development, permitting and construction
- Experience in client interaction, marketing, business development, proposal development and contract negotiation
- Be team‐oriented yet individually driven, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, have advanced problem‐solving abilities, be deadline oriented and be willing to have some fun along the way
