How You’llMake an Impact
Dudek is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual for an as-needed Stormwater Inspector position. The selected individual will assist with inspecting construction project(s) for compliance with stormwater regulations, particularly the Wisconsin Construction General Permit. The Stormwater Inspector is responsible for ensuring site compliance with the WPDES Construction General Permit, the project’s Erosion Control Plan (ECP) and Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), and any other applicable requirements (e.g. Dewatering Permits, etc.).
This is a field position requiring the majority of the work hours to be spent in the field at project sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine stormwater site inspections and post-storm inspections as specified in the ECP
- Trouble-shoot site compliance and BMP issues
- Communicate site/BMP issues and inspection results with construction and client personnel
- Collect stormwater and non-storm water samples, as needed
- Conduct field analyses of samples, as needed
- Verify site compliance with ECP, SWMP, maps and permit conditions
- Complete, maintain, and submit inspection reporting forms
- Advise project management of BMP implementation and other compliance issues
- Facilitate and lead stormwater-related training and other relevant communications for project staff
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience with field stormwater regulations, practical field experience, construction experience, or research experience.
- Strong MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet skills
- Familiarity with Best Management Practice (BMP) and NPDES regulation knowledge
- Familiarity with construction job sites and plans
- Familiarity with field sampling equipment
- Capable of field work and walking long distances on potentially difficult terrain
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of field stormwater regulations, construction experience, and inspection experience.
- A Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater-Wisconsin (QCIS) certification, or equivalent.
- Certifications such as Certified Stormwater Inspector (CSI), CESSWI, CMS4S, CPESC, CISEC or an equivalent qualified compliance inspector certification from Enviro Cert International, Inc., or CISEC, Inc. or an equivalent accredited agency is required within one year of employment
- 2022 EPA Construction General Permit Inspector Training Course
Compensation: $20.00 - $35.00/hourly*
* Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.
