Position: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Financial Services

Overview

UW Credit Union is seeking a strategic and enterprise-minded finance leader to step into the role of Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), a key leadership position responsible for advancing how financial insight, planning, and performance analysis support organizational decision-making.

This role represents an important expansion of leadership capacity within our existing FP&A function, providing dedicated operational ownership of enterprise planning, forecasting, and financial performance activities. As the scale and complexity of our financial operations continue to grow, this leader will guide the organization through budgeting and forecasting cycles, enhance profitability analytics, and ensure financial strategies are aligned to enterprise priorities.

The Director will also provide critical capacity that enables the SVP & Controller to focus more deeply on long-term financial strategy, executive engagement, and board-level financial leadership.

We’re seeking a collaborative, systems-oriented leader who brings strong financial services acumen and thrives at the intersection of analytics and strategy. This individual will lead enterprise planning rhythms, oversee performance insights across business lines, and partner closely with senior leaders to translate financial data into actionable guidance that informs growth, investment, and operational decision-making. This is a hybrid role based in Madison, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Establish planning governance, timelines, and accountability structures that guide leaders through financial planning cycles with clarity and rigor.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide financial performance analysis, including monthly and quarterly reviews, variance reporting, and executive-level financial insights.
  • Analyze branch, product, and member segment profitability, identifying key performance drivers and recommending actions to improve financial outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Treasury, Accounting, and senior business leaders to align financial planning with balance sheet strategy, liquidity considerations, and growth priorities.
