Business Planning Specialist
Onsite
Compensation: $14/hr with significant increase upon contract conversion to FTE

ABOUT

THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Business Planning Specialist to join their Business Planning team, supporting the funding and financial administration of both day-to-day operations and capital projects. This onsite, contract-to-hire position is a backfill due to recent turnover and will work closely with a collaborative team of Business Planning Specialists. The role offers hands-on experience in operational and capital project finance, with a strong focus on process improvement, teamwork, and professional development.

You will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions, contributing to a high-energy, adaptable team environment that values continuous improvement and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support project funding activities, including preparing funding requests and creating purchase orders (approximately 80% of workload)
  • Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner (approximately 20% of workload)
  • Collaborate with Business Planning team members to facilitate purchases and ensure proper funding allocation
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for purchase orders, invoices, and project funding
  • Support financial workflows for both operational and capital projects in accordance with established processes and policies
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement within the Business Planning team
  • Partner with team members to ensure seamless financial operations and compliance with internal policies
  • Assist with vendor setup and project close-out activities as needed
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Strong keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, onsite environment
  • Adaptable mindset with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
