Responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team focused on the growth of the consumer lending portfolio. This role oversees the sales strategy, production, and performance across a broad suite of consumer loan products, including auto, recreational, home equity, personal loans, and credit cards.

Working closely with the Loan Processing Manager, this position ensures a seamless and efficient loan origination process from application through funding, balancing sales growth with operational excellence and an exceptional customer experience. The Consumer Sales Manager also drives the successful sales of ancillary protection products, including Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Mechanical Breakdown Coverage (MBC), and Debt Cancellation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of consumer lending sales professionals to meet and exceed production goals
  • Drive growth of the consumer loan portfolio, including auto, recreational, home equity, personal, and credit card products
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to increase loan volume, market penetration, and product mix
  • Promote and oversee the effective sales of ancillary products, including GAP, MBC, and Debt Cancellation
  • Partner closely with the Loan Processing Manager to ensure alignment between sales and processing operations, supporting efficient workflow from application to funding
  • Collaborate on pipeline management, service levels, and turnaround times to optimize the customer experience
  • Identify process bottlenecks and work cross-functionally to implement workflow improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with other lending departments to drive referrals and expand lending opportunities
  • Monitor individual and team performance metrics, providing ongoing coaching, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with all lending regulations, internal policies, and underwriting guidelines
  • Analyze portfolio trends, sales results, and market opportunities to identify areas for continued growth
  • Maintain strong collaboration with underwriting, branch leadership, marketing, and other internal stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer lending, banking, or financial services
  • 2+ years of leadership or people management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales growth and portfolio production goals
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending products and ancillary protection products
  • Experience working in partnership with loan operations, processing, or underwriting teams
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance metrics and drive strategic decisions
