QTI is partnering with a well-established, community-focused credit union serving the Greater Madison area and surrounding communities to hire a Business Lender
. This role plays a key part in driving commercial lending growth, building strong business relationships, and supporting the financial success of local businesses. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys business development, financial analysis, and working closely with clients in a relationship-driven environment.

This direct hire opportunity is fully onsite in Madison, WI, and offers a collaborative and professional team setting with a strong emphasis on community involvement, relationship building, and long-term growth. The position starts at $90k/yr., based on experience, and is eligible for variable incentive compensation. Bonus potential is tied to individual portfolio performance and overall organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Solicit and develop new commercial lending relationships through networking and community engagement.
  • Manage the full commercial loan process including pre-screening, underwriting, structuring, and presenting loan requests.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other documentation to evaluate creditworthiness.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring profitability and credit quality.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to recommend loan products, pricing, and program enhancements.
  • Partner with internal teams, including credit analysts, to complete documentation and annual loan reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional financial products and services to support client needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments to support efficient and effective operations.
  • Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner within the community.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • 3+ years of progressive commercial lending experience required.
  • Experience or exposure to agricultural lending is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
  • Proven ability to develop business and build client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and high-quality service.
