Position SummaryThis position provides leadership and functions as a policy advisor to division and agency management for a variety of high-profile, emerging workforce development issues (recruitment/retention, knowledge management, employee engagement/recognition, leadership development, etc.). This position provides specialized policy and procedure development including leading, coordinating, and managing efforts to review, develop and improve agency initiatives related to workforce development programs. This position functions as a program area expert and advisor in the development and implementation of workforce-related programs.
The Office uses these work products in making decisions related to the administration of new programs to assist the department with workforce development, employee engagement, knowledge management, recruitment/retention, and leadership development.
Through a variety of methods including interviews, focus groups, research, and communication with Department and Division managers, external entities and agency partners, the Workforce Development Policy Advisor will develop and implement programs at the agency level. This position identifies changing program goals, objectives, and emphasis areas, formulates process refinements or alternative program designs and makes recommendations to management for improvements or modifications.
Responsibilities- Analyze and evaluate the agency information to develop workforce-related programs.
- Conduct research and analysis relating to workforce issues facing the transportation industry and agency.
- Implement and facilitate workforce development programs.
This position is in schedule-range (81-03) with an annual salary of $68,6400 - $83,200 plus excellent benefits
. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
