What We Are Looking For Two entry-level or experienced professionals who have an interest in conducting investigations involving violations of statutes and standards of conduct.
Where We Are Located These positions offer a hybridized work schedule following the completion of an initial training period. They will be headquartered at the Hill Farms state office building and allow the option to work remote up to 5 days per week. These positions will be required to come into the office for training, meetings and/or operational needs. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin.

Position SummaryThe Consumer Protection Investigator assists prosecutors and senior and advanced investigators in the Division of Legal Services and Compliance (DLSC) in the performance of investigations to secure testimony and physical evidence to support effective enforcement actions by the DLSC. The outcomes of these investigations can result in setting statewide standards of practice in the professions affected. This position places emphasis on learning and applying the statutes, administrative code, and standards to determine if there have been any violations by credential holders.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assist in planning, initiating and conducting timely investigations relating to unprofessional conduct, impairment and other alleged violations of rules or statutes.
- Draft and prepare written summaries of case investigations.
- Assist in the performance of legal support work.
- Perform record keeping, administrative and other duties as assigned.
This position is in schedule-range (05-13) with a salary of $25.54 per hour.

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).
Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.
QualificationsQualified applicants will have experience with all the following:
- Experience drafting a variety of written communications (letters, memos, reports, summaries, or comparable).
- Experience or training assisting customers with questions via phone, email, fax, in person, or comparable method.
- Experience working on and managing multiple projects, assignments, or cases concurrently.
