Position Summary

This position is responsible for fulfilling the duties of the federally required Central Registry for the Child Support program. This position also provides program support and policy interpretation to child support professionals in Wisconsin county child support agencies (CSAs), other states, tribes, and countries. This position is knowledgeable of intergovernmental case processing; monitors and evaluates CSAs to determine accurate and timely intergovernmental case processing;

and coordinates to resolve intergovernmental case processing issues with other states, tribes, and countries.

Salary Information

The classification title for this position is Human Services Area Coordinator. The starting salary is between $30.00 and $40.94 per hour ($62,400 and $85,155 annually), depending on qualifications. Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment.

The pay schedule/range is 07-03. A one-year probationary period may be required.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DCF sponsorship.) The Department of Children and Families does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

* Experience reviewing legal documents in order to determine next steps for compliance (reading court orders, intergovernmental forms, general testimony, court notes and other documentation to understand statuses of cases).

* Experience providing technical assistance (responding to questions, external states/agencies, advising on child support cases and policies, etc.). Both written and verbal in a customer service setting.

* Experience working with a large data system that supports and documents the work effort (such as KIDS, CARES Worker Web, etc.)

* Experience interpreting/applying program and/or policy requirements (statutes, administrative rules, regulations, and/or policy manuals)

Well-qualified applicants will have:

* Experience administering child support or other human service programs (performing locate, paternity establishment, court order establishment, enforcement, intergovernmental case processing, review and adjust, etc.).

* Experience facilitating a meeting (creating agendas, asking questions, gathering input, coordinating relevant stakeholders to speak)

* Experience performing system process improvement (identifying a system problem or enhancement, participating in user acceptance testing, communicating the system change to users, etc.)
